Butter Chicken also known as Murg Makkhani is probably one of the most popular Indian chicken recipes liked by all hence  Benazir brings to your kitchen, your favorite delicacy. Butter Chicken originates from Peshawar and then it became a rage in Delhi. It was an idea of a restaurant owner who thought that tandoori chickens hanging the whole day would eventually dry up and loose the juiciness so he shred them and added them to a curry of tomatoes, butter, cream and some spices helping them regain moisture and make them palatable again. This way he saved his chicken and gave us a recipe which is famous world over as Butter Chicken. The taste of Butter Chicken lies in the subtle balance of tanginess and a velvety texture.There are many versions of Butter Chicken some spicy some sweet and spicy and some totally spicy. I have made it my way and it has been loved by all. Ingredients-

For chicken marination 

1/2kg boneless chicken cut into strips 

1/2 tsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp red chilli powder

1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste

Salt as per your taste

1/4 tsp garam masala powder

For gravy

1tbsp dried fenugreek leaves 

Salt as per your taste

1 tbsp coriander powder 

1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

1/2tsp garam masala powder

1 onion chopped

Few cashew nuts

1 tbsp red chilli powder

1 tsp cumin seeds

1 cup Cooking oil

Fresh cream

5 Tomatoes

1 tbsp Butter
