Hummus
is a delicious dip or spread made from chickpeas blended with
tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, garlic, and cumin. It is a healthy food when
eaten in moderation. Usually Hummus is consumed in the middle eastern countries. Hummus can be eaten with Pita bread, grilled chicken, falafel
or any starter. In this video i have demonstrated step by step, how to make Hummus at home. You will find the video in the end of the blog do watch it to attain perfection.
Ingredients :
For Tahini paste
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
For Hummus
- Juice of one lemon
- 2 buds garlic chopped
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 1/2 cup boiled chickpeas
- 2-3 tbsp cold water
For Garnishing:
- Olives
- Paprika powder
- Chickpeas
- Olive oil Virgin
Method of preparation
Making of Tahini Paste
- 1. Roast the sesame seeds on low flame. don't let them turn brown. Roast for a minute.
- 2. Let the sesame seeds cool off first, then add into a blending jar and grind
- 3. Add extra virgin olive oil and grind again
- 4. Tahini Paste is ready.
Making of Hummus

In a blender add tahini paste

Add to it juice of a lemon and blend

After it blends add two chopped garlic buds to it

Add Salt as per taste
5.
Add half tsp roasted cumins powder and 2 tbsp olive
oil extra virgin and blend again.
6.
Now add to it one and half cup boiled chick peas
and blend again.
7.
Now add two tbsp cold water and blend again.
Hummus is now ready for consumption.
